A two-week revision plan for your theory test
If your theory test is coming up, this two-week plan will help you prepare. It assumes you can dedicate 1-2 hours each day.
Week 1: Building your knowledge
Days 1-2: Road signs
Focus on learning all road signs by category: warning signs, regulatory signs, and informational signs. Use flashcards to test yourself.
Days 3-4: Rules of the road
Study speed limits, lane discipline, and right-of-way rules. Practise related questions until you achieve 90%+ accuracy.
Days 5-6: Vehicle safety
Learn about tyre safety, lights, mirrors, and the basic maintenance checks covered in the test.
Day 7: Review and practice test
Take a full practice test to identify weak areas. Note topics where you scored below 80%.
Week 2: Hazard perception and fine-tuning
Days 8-9: Hazard awareness and safety margins
Study stopping distances, weather conditions, and anticipating hazards. Begin hazard perception practice.
Days 10-11: Motorway rules and special situations
Focus on motorway driving, breakdowns, accidents, and emergency procedures.
Days 12-13: Intensive hazard perception practice
Complete at least 5 full hazard perception practice tests. Focus on your click timing.
Day 14: Final review
Light revision of weak areas. Take one final full practice test. Rest well for test day.
Study tips
- Study in short 25-minute blocks with 5-minute breaks
- Review previous topics briefly before starting new material
- Use multiple learning methods: reading, videos, practice questions
- Track your scores to monitor improvement
