A common worry for East Ham learners is the High Street rather than the car. Buses pull in and out, people cross between shops, and there are bus lanes to watch. Lessons treat it as a skill to build up to, not a starting point: quieter streets first, then the High Street at quiet times, then at busy ones.
Barking Road carries traffic most of the day, and turning right onto it from a side street means judging gaps in two directions at once. It is one of the most useful things to practise in E6, because the same skill comes up at junctions on almost every test.
Goodmayes is a drive north east through Ilford. Later lessons spend time around the centre and its residential streets, so the area is familiar. A lesson just before the test means you warm up on those roads in the car you will use.
