1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of DriveThruL driving school services. By booking lessons with us, you agree to these terms.
2. Booking and Payment
2.1 Booking
- Bookings can be made online, by phone, or in person
- A valid UK provisional driving licence is required before your first lesson
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment or payment arrangement
2.2 Payment
- Payment is due in advance of each lesson
- Block bookings must be paid in advance (payment plans available)
- We accept bank transfer, card payments, and cash
- All prices include VAT where applicable
2.3 Pay As You Go Lessons
- Payment is required in advance to secure each lesson
- Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are chargeable in full (see Section 3.1)
- Missed lessons are chargeable in full
- Following any late cancellation or missed lesson, all future lessons must be paid in advance at the time of booking
3. Cancellation Policy
3.1 Student Cancellations
- 48+ hours notice: Reschedule free of charge
- Under 48 hours notice or no-show:The lesson is chargeable in full, as your instructor has reserved that time for you. For your first lesson this is your £30 booking deposit; for ongoing lessons it is the lesson fee, and for prepaid block bookings the lesson hours are deducted from your block.
Where there is a genuine emergency we will always try to be flexible, at our discretion. Repeated late cancellations may require lessons to be prepaid before further bookings are made.
Your £30 booking deposit is fully refundable before you are matched, or if we are unable to match you with an instructor within 7 days. Once your first lesson has taken place the deposit is non-refundable, as it counts in full towards your lessons.
3.2 Instructor Cancellations
If your instructor needs to cancel, we will reschedule at a mutually convenient time at no additional cost. In the rare event we cannot provide an alternative, a full refund will be given.
4. Lesson Conduct
4.1 Student Responsibilities
- Bring your provisional licence to every lesson
- Wear appropriate footwear for driving
- Be ready at the pickup location at the agreed time
- Inform your instructor of any medical conditions affecting driving
- Not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
4.2 Lesson Duration
Lessons are the full duration booked (e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours). Time lost due to late student arrival cannot be made up.
5. Block Bookings
- Block bookings are valid for 12 months from purchase date
- Unused hours can be refunded within the validity period
- Lessons cancelled with under 48 hours notice, or missed without notice, are deducted from your block hours (see Section 3.1)
- Block bookings are non-transferable to other students
- Prices are locked at the time of purchase
6. Test Bookings
If we assist with booking your practical test, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information for the booking
- Paying the DVSA test fee (unless included in a package)
- Attending the test at the booked time
- Any fees for test cancellation or rebooking
7. Vehicle and Insurance
- All instruction vehicles are fully insured for learner driver use
- You are covered by our insurance while under instruction
- Wilful damage to the vehicle may result in charges
8. Liability
DriveThruL is not liable for any indirect or consequential losses. Our liability is limited to the value of lessons booked. This does not affect your statutory rights.
9. Complaints
If you have a complaint, please contact us at complaints@drivethrul.co.uk. We aim to respond within 48 hours and resolve issues within 14 days.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
