An automatic clears that so you commit to the merge and watch for cyclists on the A12 approach instead. A manual licence still covers any car, and learners who build up on the quiet Victoria Park and Mile End streets first manage it well. Both £33.50 an hour, so decide on need, not price.

Most nervous Bow learners name the A11 Bow Road or the Interchange on the phone. We never start there. The first hours run the quiet streets around Victoria Park and Mile End, slow speed control and observation with nothing fast nearby. The DVSA puts the national average near 45 hours of instruction plus around 20 of private practice. Bow learners track close to it, sometimes a little above, and the reason is concrete: the Bow Interchange and Flyover merges take more repetition to make automatic than ordinary junctions, so that is usually where the extra hours go.

Beginners typically need 40 to 50 structured hours, those with experience 15 to 25, an intensive 20 or 30 hour block usually finishes ready. Honest estimate at the first assessment, no padding.
