Most trainees complete all three parts within 12-16 weeks with dedicated study and practice. However, the timeline varies based on individual circumstances, learning pace, and availability. Part 1 typically takes 2-3 months, Part 2 another 3-4 months, and Part 3 requires 6-8 months of preparation including gaining PDI (trainee licence) experience.
You must be at least 21 years old, have held a full UK or EU driving licence for at least 3 years (with no more than 6 penalty points), pass a criminal record check (DBS), not be disqualified from driving at any time during the previous 4 years, and meet the DVSA's fitness and eyesight standards.
DVSA fees are approximately £350 for all three tests. Training costs range from £2,000-£4,000 depending on the level of support needed, plus £200-£400 for study materials. DriveThruL offers flexible payment plans and package deals. Contact us for a personalised quote.
Absolutely! Most of our trainees continue working while studying. Our flexible training schedule fits around your existing commitments. Once you obtain your PDI licence (after passing Part 1 and 2), you can even start earning money by giving lessons under supervision while preparing for Part 3.
