How your trainee account works
Your account is free for 12 months and built around getting you qualified. This page explains what it includes, how school students can come your way while you train, and what changes when you pass Part 3.
What your account includes
Study hub for Parts 1, 2 and 3
Theory and hazard practice, mock tests, and the Part 3 competencies you are marked against.
Training log with trainer sign-off
Your trainer logs each session and signs it off, and your competency progress moves as they do.
Pink badge tracking
Your trainee licence, its expiry, and where you are on the route to the green badge.
Your own pupils, your own prices
Any pupil you find yourself stays yours. You set the rate, you keep all of it, and we take nothing.
No card, nothing to cancel, and nothing to pay for 12 months.
Where school students fit in
We would rather be plain about this now than have you find out later. School students can reach you while you train, but on our terms, not automatically.
School students are at our discretion, not guaranteed
We may offer you DriveThruL students while you hold a valid pink badge, usually where demand in your postcodes needs cover. It is not a guaranteed stream, and we verify your trainee licence before any offer. The trainee rate is £40 per student, or £35 with a DriveThruL roof sign. If your student pays their £30 booking deposit, that covers £30 of the fee and you settle the difference.
You are not in the public instructor directory
Trainee profiles are not listed on the site where learners choose an instructor. Directory listing starts when you qualify.
The lead WhatsApp group is for instructors cleared for leads
That group exists to post claim links for school students. We add you once your trainee licence is verified and your account is cleared to take school students, and on the day you qualify at the latest.
Verified documents do not mean you are cleared for leads
When your dashboard marks your licence and badge as valid, it means we hold current copies and are tracking their expiry. That is a records check, not a change of status. Being cleared for school students is a separate step we confirm with you directly, however complete your profile looks.
What changes when you qualify
Send us your Part 3 pass and your ADI number as soon as you have them. We confirm your green badge, list you on the site, and you join the qualified dispatch pool fully. The fee drops to the qualified rate: £30 per student we send you, or £25 if you display a DriveThruL roof sign. There is no franchise fee, no subscription, and nothing to pay in a month we send you nobody.
How the lead fee worksTrainee (PDI) account terms
These are the terms your trainee account runs on. Version 2026-08-18.1.
School students while you train are at our discretion
While you hold a current trainee (pink badge) licence we may offer you DriveThruL students, usually in areas where demand needs cover. It is not a guaranteed stream. We verify your trainee licence before any student is offered. The trainee rate is £40 per student, or £35 if you display a DriveThruL roof sign. If your student pays their £30 booking deposit, that covers £30 of the fee and you settle the difference. You will not appear in our public instructor directory until you qualify.
Your account is free for 12 months
It includes the study hub for Parts 1, 2 and 3, a training log, pink badge progress tracking, mock tests, and the tools to manage your own pupils. There is no card required and nothing to cancel.
Your own pupils are yours, at your own prices
Any pupil you find yourself stays yours. You set the rate, you keep all of it, and DriveThruL takes nothing.
When you qualify, you join the dispatch pool fully
Once you have passed Part 3 and your ADI qualification is confirmed, you join the qualified dispatch pool and can be listed on the site. The fee drops to the qualified rate: £30 for each student we send you, or £25 if you display a DriveThruL roof sign. There is no franchise fee, no subscription, and nothing to pay in any month we send you nobody.
School students pay our published rates, not yours
A student we send you pays DriveThruL prices: currently £72 for a 2 hour pay as you go lesson, which is £36 an hour, and from £34 an hour on a block booking. Their £30 deposit comes off the lesson price. They pay the balance to you directly, unless they pay for a package online through their dashboard: in that case we tell you straight away, you must not collect for those hours, and we transfer your share to you within 3 working days. If the student is later refunded for hours you did not deliver, the share for those hours is repayable, normally deducted from your next share. You cannot set your own rate for a student we introduce.
Choosing an area does not guarantee work in it
You pick the postcodes you cover, but we can only send you students who actually book. How many leads you see depends on demand in your areas, not on how many areas you list. We cover East London (E and IG) and the South East London, Bexley and Dartford belt (SE and DA). Postcodes outside that receive nothing.
Keeping your licence and insurance current is your responsibility
We need a current trainee licence and your own tuition insurance on file. If your pink badge lapses, your account stops until it is renewed.
