- Routes leave the centre onto Woolwich Road (the A206), turning left or right at the end of the road. It is the first junction of your test, so take your time and look both ways properly.
- Most routes use the A2016, which runs as Bronze Age Way and Eastern Way through Thamesmead. It is a dual carriageway with a run of roundabouts, and Eastern Way is 50mph. Pick your lane from the signs on the approach to each roundabout and hold it.
- Leaving Eastern Way for Harrow Manorway (the A2041), many routes take a slip road between two roundabouts and then go straight on at two more towards Knee Hill. Read the lane markings at each one rather than following the car in front.
